Review: The Gunslinger by Stephen King

Hello readers,

One of my goals for 2018 was to read more book series. One of the series I wanted to get into was The Dark Tower by Stephen King. Not because I am crazy about fantasy or Stephen King, more because someone gifted me the last book of series a couple of years back and I have yet not find the time to get into the series.
In December I finally bought the first book of the series, which is The Gunslinger. After I have taken a couple of weeks to think about this first novel I want to bring you my review today.

After the warning from Stephen King in this editions foreword, my expections were at its lowest. And honestly I wasn't disappointed, because I mean I got warned, but it really was as bad.
The writing style was absolutely not my thing. There were way to many adjectives and it overall just made me feel confused at all times.
I couldn't follow the story line or really get a picture of the characters.

The reason why I am not giving you a synopsis is because I can't even remember what it was about besides Rowland (the Gunslinger) following someone through the desert and having some sort of flashbacks.

I gave this one 3 stars at first but definetly rating it down to 2 stars after having thought about it.
However I did hear that the second book of the series is a lot better so I will give this another try, if I still struggle with it at much I won't continue this series and rather pick up something else.

If you have read the whole series please let me know your honest thoughts.
I will see you all again soon for another bookish post.

Take care,
